Getting there and accessibility Graz Museum

Public transport and stops
You can get to the Graz Museum on tram lines 3 and 5. The Schloßbergplatz/Murinsel stop is located at Sackstraße 20, right next to the entrance to the Graz Museum. The Graz Museum can be reached on foot from the Main Square in about five minutes.

Getting there by car
A public wheelchair accessible car park is located at Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai 36.
To get to the museum, cross Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai and continue along Sackstraße towards Main Square.

Entrance and entrance area
The museum entrance is located directly at Sackstraße 18. From there, you can access a sliding door. Access to the entrance area is via the right-hand sliding door, which opens automatically. The cash desk is located after the sliding door on the left. A member of our team is available there to answer questions.

The cash desk is equipped with an inductive hearing system.
On the right behind the cash desk, a walkway leads to the auditorium.
Directly after the sliding door on the right is a lift that leads to all floors of the building. The exhibition spaces are located on the first and second floors. The cloakroom and lockers are located in the basement.
Ticket prices and cash desk area
Persons with disabilities pay a reduced ticket price, while accompanying persons and assistants can enter free of charge.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the museum.
A wheelchair is available free of charge if required. It can be requested at the cash desk.

From the entrance area, a door leads into the inner courtyard. From there, you can reach the Pharmacy Museum and the Gothic Hall.

Important: Depending on the wheelchair model, independent mobility in the inner courtyard may be impaired by paving stones. Let the cash desk know if you need help.

Restrooms
A wheelchair accessible restroom is located on the ground floor only. It is straight ahead from the main entrance and then to the right.

Exhibition spaces
All exhibition levels are wheelchair accessible. One exception is a room at the back of the Gothic Hall, which is only accessible via stairs.
A designated wheelchair-accessible lift in the main building with stops on all levels (from -1 to 3) is located to the right of the entrance.
The lift has been equipped with a handrail. The push button outside the cabin is not tactile. There is no inductive integration for the emergency call system in the lifts.
Accessibility in the exhibitions
All exhibition spaces and the entrance area on the ground floor are equipped with seating.
The building is not air-conditioned, with the exception of the exhibition spaces on the first and second floors. There are no designated rest areas.
Exhibition and object texts are available in both German and English. Simple or plain language is used in selected exhibitions.
The audio stations are not equipped with induction loops.
