How do we want to shape our society in the future? Through active debate and exchange, we can constantly redefine our democratic coexistence. We live democracy every day – in the town hall, in companies, clubs, schools and families. Basic and human rights and the constitution provide us with a robust foundation. Through our actions, however, democracy is constantly on the move. Time and again, it also reaches its limits and requires joint reflection, prudence and critical reflection.

The exhibition Hey there, democracy! combines current discourse with Graz’s urban history; it offers information and opportunities to share your own opinions and experiences; it encourages people to think about democracy and opens up space for questions. And it makes it clear: it’s not just about being loud – listening is also essential.
